Knowledge Base Overview

Create your brand truth source to detect hallucinations and ground AI outputs.

What is the Knowledge Base?

Your Knowledge Base is VectorGap's source of truth about your brand. It contains the facts, features, pricing, and positioning that define who you are. We use it to: - **Detect hallucinations** - Flag when AI says incorrect things - **Score accuracy** - Measure how well AI represents you - **Ground GEO content** - Generate AI-optimized content based on facts - **Power alerts** - Notify you when AI contradicts your KB

Why It Matters

Without a Knowledge Base, VectorGap can still score sentiment, visibility, and recommendation. But we can't detect hallucinations. Hallucinations are dangerous because they're often plausible. AI might confidently state: - Wrong pricing - Features you don't have - Incorrect founding year - Made-up partnerships Your Knowledge Base lets us catch these issues automatically.

What to Include

Prioritize factual, verifiable information: **Essential:** - Current pricing and plans - Product/service features - Company overview (founding, location, team size) - Key differentiators **Recommended:** - FAQs and their answers - Integration capabilities - Customer types/use cases - Awards and recognition **Good to have:** - Technical specifications - API documentation - Support policies - Release history

Knowledge Base vs. AI Training

Your Knowledge Base is not training data for AI systems. It's VectorGap's internal reference. To actually improve what AI says about you, you need: 1. **Public, crawlable content** on your website 2. **Citations** from authoritative sources 3. **GEO-optimized content** structured for AI understanding The Knowledge Base helps you detect problems. GEO content helps you fix them.

Getting Started

Start with your most important facts: 1. Export your FAQ page content 2. Add your pricing page details 3. Include your "About" page content 4. Add key product documentation VectorGap accepts PDFs, DOCs, and plain text. We also support direct URL crawling for public pages. Begin with 5-10 documents. You can always add more as you discover gaps.
